ALLEGED BULLYING VIDEO RAISES SERIOUS CONCERNS AT ANADARKO PUBLIC SCHOOLS

ANADARKO, OKLA. (TUC) — We just became aware of a video circulating on social media involving students at Anadarko Public Schools and the alleged bullying of another juvenile.

Anadarko Public Schools has released a statement acknowledging the situation and says the district is looking into the matter.

Because this involves juveniles, we will not be sharing the video.

But we want to be very clear about where we stand when it comes to bullying: there should be zero tolerance for it. No student should have to walk into school worried about being humiliated, intimidated, harassed, or targeted by their peers. School should be a place where kids feel safe, periodt.

The behavior depicted in the video is disturbing and unacceptable. And like it or not, when incidents like this happen within a school community, how they are handled reflects on the school’s administration. The responsibility now falls on the school district’s leadership to thoroughly investigate what happened, determine the facts, and take appropriate action based on those findings.

Accountability matters, not only for the student who was allegedly targeted, but for every parent who sends their child to school expecting them to be safe.

Best believe, we’ll be following this one closely and waiting to see how Anadarko Public Schools responds. If the investigation substantiates the allegations, we expect those responsible to be held accountable.

Bullying is not a rite of passage. It is not “kids being kids.” And it should never be normalized.

And we know many of y’all don’t like seeing the word “alleged,” and trust us, we get it. But please understand that, for legal reasons, we have to use that putrid little word.

Its use doesn’t mean we’re dismissing anyone’s experience or that we aren’t taking what happened seriously. We are. We have seen the video ourselves, and what we saw is deeply concerning. Using careful language doesn’t change that. It just means we have a responsibility to report on this appropriately while the matter is being investigated.
