OKLAHOMA (TUC) — Y’all, as most of you probably know by now, we love space news and pretty much anything that gives us that little bit of “look up at the sky and just get lost in space” kind of magic.

And tonight through Thursday night, we have a chance to catch one of the best meteor showers of the year, at least in our opinion. The Perseids are putting on their annual show, and there’s just something pretty dang cool about stepping outside, looking up and catching a meteor streak across the sky.

OKLAHOMA (TUC) — It’s about damn time, y’all.

Senate Bill 1636 has officially been signed into law by Governor Kevin Stitt and will go into effect November 1st of this year.

Under this new law, families who have spent years waiting for answers in their loved one’s unsolved case will finally be able to ask for the case to be looked at all over again. And this time, by investigators who had nothing to do with the original investigation.

ARDMORE, OKLA. (TUC) — We’ve reported on some unusual crimes, but beefing with a splash pad is most definitely a first for us. A 42-year-old Oklahoma City man is facing charges after allegedly causing more than $1,000 worth of damage to a splash pad in Ardmore.

According to official court documents, on August 6th, Jeremiah Lyon allegedly grabbed black paint and splattered it across the splash pad, causing more than $1,000 in damage. Lyon was later arrested and is now facing a felony charge of malicious injury to property.

OKLAHOMA (TUC) — Y’all, our team has been talking about something we really want to do, and we wanted to throw the idea out there and see what everyone thinks.

We want to find a way to give back and help people in our community who may be going through a hard time. We know we can’t help everyone (even though we really wish we could), and starting out it probably won’t be a whole lot, but even if we can help one family with $100 here and there, that’s still $100 they didn’t have before.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (TUC) — Earlier this year, we reported on the disappearance of Oklahoma State Senate candidate Barry Christian. Sadly, not long after, we had to bring y’all the heartbreaking update that Christian had been found deceased inside his truck in a rural area near Erick.

At that time, there were still a lot of unanswered questions about what may have happened. His official cause and manner of death had not yet been determined, as we were still waiting for the final findings from the Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

But today, we now have that answer.

ANADARKO, OKLA. (TUC) — As many of y’all may remember, about a week or two ago, we reported on several people in our community, including some of our elders, who came forward after allegedly being taken advantage of through real estate and vehicle sales.

When those concerns were brought to us, our team got to work immediately. We started making calls, looking into the situations being reported to us, and helping connect people with the right resources to hopefully get something done.

OKLAHOMA, OKLA. (TUC) — Alright y’all, Oklahoma elections are coming up soon, with Election Day set for August 25th. Polls will open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m.

For those who aren’t registered to vote just yet, the voter registration deadline for the August 25th election was July 31st. However, if you missed that deadline, don’t count yourself out completely because there’s still another election coming up.

The voter registration deadline for the November 3rd election is October 9th. So, that being said, if you missed out on registering in time for August 25th, you still have time to get your registration squared away before November.

Now, what the heck are we supposed to vote for on August 25th? Glad you asked.

MOORE, OKLA. (TUC) — This is the second wreck we’ve reported on today involving a motorcyclist, and sadly, this one ended tragically.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is currently on scene in the northbound lanes of the I-35 near 19th St. in Moore, where troopers are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and a semi-trailer.

Sadly, authorities have confirmed that this wreck did involve a fatality. At this time, information surrounding exactly what happened is still limited as the investigation remains active, and no identities have been released as of now.

CARNEY, OKLA. (TUC) — A Carney elementary school principal, identified as Allen Bellmyer, was taken into custody on Sunday and booked into the Lincoln County Jail on a complaint of lewd or indecent proposals to a child. Bellmyer was later released from jail after posting bond.

Carney Public Schools has also released a statement regarding the incident, saying they are aware of the criminal investigation and that the principal will not be on campus or attending any school functions or activities while the investigation is ongoing. The school district also says they are cooperating with investigators as they work to gather more information about what happened.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (TUC) — The Oklahoma City Police Department has reported that around 6:00 a.m. this morning (Tuesday), there was a bad wreck involving a truck and a motorcycle near Southwest 44th St. and South Council Rd.

Oklahoma City Fire crews also responded to the scene and were able to render aid to the motorcyclist before they were transported to a local hospital. As of now, no injuries have been reported involving the driver of the truck.

However, authorities say the motorcyclist is in critical condition.

CHICKASHA, OKLA. (TUC) — Hey y’all, we’ve seen quite a few questions floating around Chickasha regarding the possibility of a proposed data center. So, we decided to go straight to the source, make a few phone calls, and get some verified information for y’all.

That being said, we spoke directly with a City of Chickasha official today regarding the upcoming City Council meeting scheduled for August 17th and asked specifically about the data center rumors.

According to the city official we spoke with, there are currently NO data centers coming to Chickasha within city limits. We’ve also seen discussions where Chickasha Mayor Zachary Grayson has addressed these concerns himself, further confirming the information we received directly from the city.

AMBER-POCASSET, OKLA. (TUC) — Hey y’all, we’ve heard your concerns, we’ve seen the posts going around, and we wanted to give everyone an update on what we actually know so far regarding the talk of a proposed data center coming to the Amber area.

There’s been a lot of information circulating online, and naturally, people have questions and very valid concerns. So, instead of repeating what’s being shared on social media, our team personally reached out to Amber City Hall this morning to ask some questions and get information directly from a local official.

We were able to confirm directly with Amber City Hall that the Town Hall meeting tonight at 6:00 p.m. is open to the public.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (TUC) — Y’all, there’s a pretty serious situation unfolding in northwest Oklahoma City this morning after a semi-truck reportedly crashed into a home near Northwest 70th Street and North Meridian Avenue, close to Northwest Expressway.

According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, this happened shortly after 10:00 a.m. During the crash, the semi reportedly hit a gas line, causing a gas leak in the neighborhood.

And because of the gas leak, fire crews aren’t taking any chances. Nearby homes have been evacuated while emergency crews are working to get the leak under control and make sure that the area is safe.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (TUC) — This is the kind of news we absolutely don’t enjoy reporting, but unfortunately, these stories need to be told. Not because we want to sensationalize someone else’s tragedy, but because we believe awareness matters. Stories like this remind us to look out for one another, pay attention to the little ones around us, and remember that sometimes it only takes a few seconds for something to go terribly wrong.

According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, a three-year-old child was hit by a vehicle Saturday evening in southwest Oklahoma City near Southwest 15th St. and South Mustang Rd. Police say it happened around 7:00 p.m. According to police, the three-year-old was in the middle of the roadway when the child was struck.

MCALESTER, OKLA. (TUC) — A family is demanding answers after they say their loved one, who is currently incarcerated at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary, has been assaulted multiple times in recent months and hasn’t received the medical care they believe he needs.

The inmate, identified as Ramon, has reportedly told his family that after everything that has happened, he is now living in fear for his life. And as you can imagine, his family is scared too.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (TUC) — Well, this one ended up escalating faster than Oklahoma weather, folks.

The Oklahoma City Police Department responded Thursday night to the 8900 block of Nettie, near Spencer, after receiving reports of a domestic disturbance.

According to police, when officers arrived on scene, the suspect got into a vehicle and allegedly tried to drive into the responding officers while attempting to flee. Y'all, that's the kind of decision that had dispatch saying, "Go ahead and send a few more."

PAYNE COUNTY, OKLA. (TUC) — Two Ingalls firefighters are in critical condition after their firetruck crashed on State Highway 51 in Payne County on Thursday.

The firetruck was traveling west on State Highway 51 near West Point Rd when a tire reportedly failed. The truck then crossed into the eastbound lanes, crashed through the guardrail, and went down an embankment.

According to the Stillwater Fire Department, the driver became trapped inside the firetruck. Stillwater firefighters assisted with medical care and worked to extricate him before he was airlifted to a Tulsa hospital. The second firefighter was also critically injured and was taken to a local hospital by EMS.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (TUC) — Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Casey Killion-Letran is a former Oklahoma Department of Human Services employee who is accused of using a low-income assistance program, one that's meant to help Oklahomans pay their utility bills, to allegedly line his own pockets.

According to official court documents filed on May 7th, 2026, prosecutors allege that while working for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Killion-Letran embezzled more than $25,000. Investigators claim that between September 2017 and August 2024, he approved more than $2 million in LIHEAP and Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program funds, and that more than $25,000 of that money was diverted for his own personal use instead of going to the people it was meant to help. At that time, he was charged with one count of embezzlement.

PONCA CITY, OKLA. (TUC) — About a month ago, the Kay County Sheriff's Department issued a missing person alert for Amanda Rogers, a mother and wife who was reportedly last seen under suspicious circumstances. But thankfully, she was found safe the following day.

However, more details are coming to light about what allegedly happened before she disappeared and how investigators say her husband was involved.

OKLAHOMA (TUC) — Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced that all of its officers across the country are expected to be equipped with body cameras by the end of September. On the surface, that sounds like a step in the right direction toward increasing transparency and accountability within the agency. But there is one catch.

According to the agency's policy, just because officers will now be equipped with body cameras doesn't automatically mean the footage will be available to the public. Instead, ICE says it will decide whether to release body camera footage when it's in the agency's "best interest." So, in other words, don't go rushing to file a public records request just yet, because there's a chance the public may never see it.
