ANADARKO, OKLA. (TUC) — It’s officially here, y’all! Today marks the beginning of the 91st Annual American Indian Exposition in Anadarko!

The celebration kicks off this morning with the parade through downtown Anadarko at 10:00 a.m.

We hope everyone has an amazing week celebrating the culture, traditions, history and people that make the American Indian Exposition so special.

ANADARKO, OKLA. (TUC) — When Victoria reached out to us and asked if we could help share this, we said yes without hesitation. Because when someone in our community is hurting, no one should have to carry that burden alone.

When a family in our community hurts, we all hurt with them. We show up, we rally around one another, and we help carry the weight however we can. That’s what community is supposed to be about.

And right now, Victoria and her family need all of our help. They’re going through something no family should ever have to face, and they shouldn’t have to carry all of this on their own. This is one of those times where we can come together as a community, help take a little bit of that weight off their shoulders, and remind them that they’re not alone.

ANADARKO – We're continuing to spotlight our community voices because around here, we believe everyone deserves a platform to be heard, to be seen, and to know their story matters.

And before we continue, we want to make one thing very clear. We will not tolerate hateful comments, victim blaming, harassment, or any attacks directed toward the women who have chosen to share their stories.

It takes an incredible amount of courage to speak about trauma, and everyone who has trusted us with their story deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. Any comments that violate this will be removed, and repeat offenders may be blocked.

ANADARKO — These brave women have trusted us with some of the most personal parts of their lives, and we know it isn't easy to revisit those memories, let alone share them with the world.

As we read through each story, our hearts broke. More than anything, we wished we could reach through the screen, wrap our arms around their younger selves, and tell them everything they deserved to hear.

ANADARKO — As y’all know, we strongly believe in the truth and in justice. We believe that whatever is done in the dark will eventually come to light.

Over the past several days, we’ve had the opportunity to speak with several people whose voices deserve to be heard. Their stories matter, and they deserve the chance to tell them.

As we move forward with this coverage, our focus will not be on the convicted offender. He has already received enough attention. Instead, we are going to share the stories of the strong women who found the courage to come forward.

CHICKASHA — Y'all, we are so excited to feature this incredible nonprofit this week! We feel that more people need to know about what they’re doing. They truly deserve all the support this community can give them.

It all started with Dutton, a sweet little boy who has autism. His mom, Megan, saw there weren’t very many local resources to help kids with autism safely partake in sports activities. That’s when Megan took matters into her own hands and as a result, created something truly special. Way to go, Mom!

LAWTON, OKLA. (TUC) — This week’s Local Spotlight is coming straight out of Lawton.

Galaxy Ice is a local snow cone business, but they aren't just your typical stand. They’re snow cones on wheels, literally. They roll through different spots across Oklahoma and they bring the cold straight to you.

They aren’t playing it safe with flavors either. They have everything from the classic sweets to bold picks like pickle for all the dill lovers out there. In short, they’ve got something for every kind of craving.

And the fun doesn’t stop there. They’ve officially leveled up. Galaxy Ice now offers a rental party machine for just $75, meaning your next birthday, event, or backyard get-together just got a serious upgrade.

ANADARKO — Ok y’all, Darko Grill came highly nominated by multiple followers, and rightfully so. From the food to the friendly atmosphere, it didn't take long for us to see why so many people wanted to see this local favorite featured.

Darko Grill was established in 2023 and It's very clear that not only the people of Anadarko, but Oklahomans across the state, are proud to call Darko Grill one of our own.

Darko Grill is located at 201 W. Main St., right in the heart of downtown Anadarko, and has become a favorite spot for not only the local townsfolk, but for the people from the surrounding communities as well. And you know damn well the food is bussin’ when folks are willing to make the drive just to grab a bite to eat. You don't earn that kind of loyal customer base by accident. That is what happens when you consistently serve good food and treat people right.

CHICKASHA — There’s just something beautiful about getting to learn the stories behind local small businesses across Oklahoma and seeing the passion, faith, sacrifice, and heart people pour into what they do every single day. We truly love being able to spotlight the people who make Oklahoma what it is.

What started as a small lemonade stand in a driveway to help raise money for a Disney trip for their daughter has now grown into something much bigger for the family behind Heavenly Sips Lemonade.
