UNSOLVED: WHY WE'RE TURNING THE GIRL SCOUT MURDERS INTO A MULTI-PART SERIES

CAMP SCOTT - As we continue digging into the 1977 Girl Scout Murders, we've realized this story deserves more than just a two-part series.

The deeper we've gone into the investigation, the more we've discovered. There is simply too much information to fit into two articles without leaving out important details, and we want to make sure y'all have the full picture.

So, we're changing things up a bit.

Instead of rushing through the case, we're going to break it down into several parts, allowing us to take a closer look at the investigation, the evidence, the witness testimony, and the timeline. Once our website officially launches, the entire series will also be available as one complete article for anyone who wants to read it from beginning to end.

Today, we're going to examine the pretrial testimony of Dee Elder, the chief counselor assigned to the Kiowa Unit. Her testimony provides one of the most detailed firsthand accounts of what happened at Camp Scott during the hours before the murders were discovered and helps establish the timeline investigators would later use in the case.

So, keep an eye out because we'll be releasing the next installment before nightfall today.
