FOR 125 YEARS, ANADARKO HAS BEEN MORE THAN A TOWN. IT'S HOME.

ANADARKO, OKLA. (TUC) — Go Darko, it's yo' birthday! We're gonna party like it's yo' birthday! We're gonna celebrate the Darko way, all day!

Today is a pretty special day for our little corner of Oklahoma.

On August 6th, 1901, Anadarko officially became a town, which means today we're celebrating 125 years of history.

But it's important to remember that Anadarko's story didn't begin in 1901. It began long before the town was ever established. Before there were streets, businesses, and neighborhoods, this land was home to several Native American tribes. Their history, cultures, and traditions continue to shape our community today and remain a big part of what makes Anadarko such a special place.

As time went on, another chapter of Anadarko's story began. Families came here looking for a fresh start and the opportunity to build a life of their own. With each new family, business, and generation, Anadarko slowly grew into the close-knit community so many of us are proud to call home.

Named after the Anadarko band of the Caddo Nation, our town has become much more than just a place on the map. It's a community built on generations of hard work, resilience, and neighbors who have always looked out for one another.

Today, Anadarko is proudly known as the Indian Capital of the Nation. It's a place where Native American history, culture, and traditions aren't just part of the past, they're part of our everyday life. That heritage is woven into the fabric of our community and continues to make Anadarko one of a kind.

And like any town that's been around for 125 years, we've seen our share of victories and challenges. We've celebrated milestones, weathered hardships, and watched generations grow up right here in our own backyards. But through it all, one thing has never changed: the people. They're the heart of this community, and they're the reason Anadarko continues to stand strong.

So today, we just want to say this: Happy 125th Birthday, Anadarko!
