BREAKING NEWS: HORRIFIC MULTI-VEHICLE CRASH SHUTS DOWN NORTHBOUND I-44

SOUTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (TUC) — Y’all, if you are headed north on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike toward Oklahoma City, please be aware that the northbound highway is completely shut down right now following a horrific multi-vehicle crash near Southwest 119th Street and the I-44.

Our team came upon the scene ourselves, and from what we could personally see, preliminary information indicates around three to four vehicles may be involved, including an overturned semi and what appears to be a police car as well. It also appeared that either a semi or another vehicle had caught fire following the crash. The fire had been extinguished by the time we were able to get a closer look.

Multiple agencies are currently on scene, including the Oklahoma City Police Department and Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

At this time, we do not know the conditions of those involved, and we do not know whether there have been any fatalities. Until authorities provide more information, we are not going to speculate.

What we can tell you is that this scene was absolutely horrific. We saw it with our own eyes, and our hearts immediately went to the people involved and the families who may be waiting for a phone call or wondering where their loved one is.

So, check on your people. Check on your loved ones, especially if you know someone who was traveling this way today.

And please keep everyone involved in this crash, their families, and the first responders working this scene in your thoughts and prayers. Behind every vehicle involved is a person and a family who loves them.

We are sharing a few photos taken by our team at the scene, but out of respect for those involved, we will be mindful of what we show.

Again, the northbound I-44 near Southwest 119th Street is completely shut down at this time. If you are headed toward Oklahoma City, avoid the area and find an alternate route if possible.

We sincerely hope everyone involved makes it home to their families tonight.

We will update as more information becomes available.

***UPDATE: With heavy hearts, we received confirmation that there have been three fatalities.***
