NEARLY 1,000 ACRES BURNED IN GRACEMONT WILDFIRE, NO HOMES LOST
GRACEMONT, OKLA. (TUC) — On Thursday, a grass fire near Gracemont quickly grew into a wildfire, burning through nearly 1,000 acres. The fire started east of County Street 2690 and north of County Road 1290. Reportedly, the flames got pretty close to several structures in the area, but thankfully, fire crews were able to get it contained before any of those structures were lost. Praise the Lord for that.
Y’all, with how dry everything has been lately, it really does not take much for a grass fire to turn into something much bigger.
We are just grateful this one was contained and, most importantly, that no families lost their homes. We definitely do not take that for granted, especially after seeing how quickly some of these fires can spread.
A huge thank you to all of the firefighters who answered the call and worked to get this one under control. We appreciate y’all and everything you do to protect our communities.
