TRAFFIC ALERT: MULTI-VEHICLE CRASH CAUSING MAJOR BACKUP ON I-44 NEAR I-240

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (TUC) — Y’all, heads up if you’re traveling through southwest Oklahoma City this morning. There’s a multi-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of the I-44 near Southwest 89th Street, and traffic is pretty backed up.

We just got caught in it ourselves and were delayed by about 30 minutes getting to our destination, so that being said, give yourself some extra time if you’re headed this way. The traffic backup starts all the way down toward Newcastle, so expect delays well before you reach the crash site.

With the I-44 and the I-240 coming together in this area, the backup may affect traffic trying to get through the interchange as well.
