UPDATE: MEDICAL EXAMINER RELEASES FINDINGS IN DEATH OF OKLAHOMA SENATE CANDIDATE BARRY CHRISTIAN

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (TUC) — Earlier this year, we reported on the disappearance of Oklahoma State Senate candidate Barry Christian. Sadly, not long after, we had to bring y’all the heartbreaking update that Christian had been found deceased inside his truck in a rural area near Erick.

At that time, there were still a lot of unanswered questions about what may have happened. His official cause and manner of death had not yet been determined, as we were still waiting for the final findings from the Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

But today, we now have that answer.

According to the Medical Examiner’s report, Christian’s manner of death has been ruled a suicide, with the cause of death listed as a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

We know a lot of y’all followed this story with us from the time Christian was first reported missing back in April of this year, so we wanted to make sure we came back and gave you the update now that the official findings have been released.

And while we now have an official answer surrounding his death, we also want to remember that behind every report like this is a real person and a family left grieving. Our hearts remain with Christian’s family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved him.
