BILLNAPPED

Today’s word: BILLNAPPED (verb)

bill·napped (bill-napt)

Definition: The mysterious phenomenon where your paycheck shows up just long enough for you to say, “Ooh, I got paid,” before vanishing to pay bills like it was never yours to begin with.

Example: “I got paid at midnight, and by 12:03 my paycheck had already been billnapped.”

Synonyms: Congratulations, you’re broke again. Adulting. The First of the month. Thoughts and prayers.

The Untold Chronicle Note: There’s no feeling quite like seeing that direct deposit notification… and there’s no disappointment quite like checking your account ten minutes later. Your bills didn’t waste a second. They were sitting in the parking lot waiting for payday to pull up.
