WHAT STARTED AS A DISTURBANCE CALL QUICKLY ESCALATED IN OKLAHOMA CITY

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (TUC) — Well, this one ended up escalating faster than Oklahoma weather, folks.

The Oklahoma City Police Department responded Thursday night to the 8900 block of Nettie, near Spencer, after receiving reports of a domestic disturbance.

According to police, when officers arrived on scene, the suspect got into a vehicle and allegedly tried to drive into the responding officers while attempting to flee. Y'all, that's the kind of decision that had dispatch saying, "Go ahead and send a few more."

Officers then fired at the suspect, and the vehicle continued forward before crashing into a building. Investigators say the suspect refused to get out of the vehicle after the crash. Apparently, the suspect's next plan was to pretend the situation wasn't still happening.

And by that point, the situation turned into an all-hands-on-deck response. The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol were called in to assist because it went from "send an officer" to "send everybody."

Eventually, it looks like the suspect realized this wasn't ending in his favor and surrendered. Police say he was then taken into custody.

Y'all, let this be your reminder that when the cops show up, making the situation worse is never the answer. Luckily, it appears that no officers were harmed and they all got to go home after their shift. As for the person now in custody, we're guessing their weekend isn't exactly going as planned.
